ACTIVITIES IN DENMARK  •  Energy Service DK
The Energy Service Denmark was founded in 2005 as an independent energy councelling service. Ten regional offices offers councelling in energy conservation, promotes energy conservation and renewable energy in the educational system and the construction business, and offers 'green certification' to institutions, shops, churches etc.
OVE runs the national sectretariat while the regional offices are run by local energy- and environment organisations. Energy Service Denmark are organised around 4 cross-regional pillars: Ask about Energy, Schools’ Energy Forum, Company Service, and Green Diplomas.
Ask about Energy
The core activity is free, impartial councelling on energy conservation based on the citizens personal situation. 'Ask about Energy' also entails:
  • Mobile exhibition
  • Displays at exhibitions, fairs, etc.
  • Hands-on exhibition at some of the offices
  • Education and presentations
  • Media outreach
  • Involvement in pilot and demonstration projects
  • Use of Research and Development
Schools’ Energy Forum
The Schools’ Energy Forum organises activities for educational institutions and provides knowledge and materials within the fields of environment, energy, and energy conservation. The aim is to make good and exciting education in energy easy for teachers.
Company Service
The Company Service focus on cooperation with companies primarily SMEs (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises), on sales and installations of energy optimized solutions. In 2006 the main focus is on companies in the construction sector such as plumbers.
Green Diplomas
Green Diplomas is an activity to improve and increase energy and environmental certification of institutions, shops, offices, churches, etc. The certification involves a valuation of the perfomance on six aspects: electricity consumption, water consumption, heat consumption, green purchases and sales, waste, and transportation. Green diplomas is about always striving to to better, and continued progress is rewarded. Normally, a green diploma is given if improvements are made in at least two of the six environmental aspects.
Energy service Denmark is funded by a special levy in Denmark, charged on electricity consumption. The special levy is to be used on activities that promotes energy efficency and energy conservation. In addition, Energy Service Denmark receives project funding for specific projects and campaigns.
